【ABOUT US】
Taiwan has a vast sea area, which contains rich and diverse underwater cultural relics. It is not only rich in scientific research materials, but also precious cultural assets. Consequently, the pursuit of the development of underwater archaeology emerges as an imperative objective. Established in 2022, the Research Center for Underwater Archaeology and Heritage at National Tsing Hua University (the Center) is Taiwan's premier institution devoted to this field. The Center strives to propel the exploration of underwater archaeology and cultural heritage in the seas of Taiwan, while also nurturing professional training, interdisciplinary cooperation, and foster international academic exchange.
【OPEN POSITION】
One Postdoctoral Fellow
【APPOINTMENT DURATION】
Hire on an annual basis, possibly renewal up to 3 years.
【WORKPLACE】
NO.101, Section 2, Kuang-Fu Road, Hsinchu 300044, Taiwan R.O.C.
【JOB DESCRIPTION】
Conduct a research project that is in line with the center's objectives; support other research and public education projects held by the Center, etc.
【RESEARCH FOCUS】
The research field must involve any of the following expertise:
1. Use of artificial intelligence in underwater archaeology.
2. Marine objects detection technology for underwater archaeology
3. Technologies for conserving and preserving underwater archaeological sites and artifacts
【REQUIRED DOCUMENTS】
1. Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a list of publications.
2. Cover letter.
3. Two Reference letters.
4. Research proposal.
5. Graduation certificate and Ph.D. Diploma (The documents must be confirmed by the ROC embassy if the degree is from another country.)
6. Representative publications (Up to three items).

Only electronic files will be accepted. There is no particular deadline and we will review the applications until the position is filled.
